I’ve worked as a freelance journalist for more than 10 years, covering business, arts, education and lifestyle assignments for newspapers and magazines. Published work is often aggregated by state agencies and organizations such as Oregon’s employment department and fish and wildlife service, and Oregon Primary Care Association.
Highlights from my work in content marketing include multimedia projects for medical publisher Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins. I managed content development and project direction for a new Bandon Oregon Chamber of Commerce website which won awards from the Oregon Tourism Commission and Oregon State Chamber of Commerce.
I started my professional career as a public school educator, teaching and developing curricula language arts and visual arts. The skills I learned and practiced in the classroom still inform my approach to research and writing as I consider what motivates us to learn, how narrative structure impacts our interest and retention, and what tools or resources enable us to take action.
